6 Reasons to Own the Toyota Yaris



The changing profile of Indian automobile owners seeking new models with better features, more power and performance has led to automobile manufacturers adding premium features to their hatchback offerings. Toyota, a frontrunner in the automobile industry and known for manufacturing high quality, high finish super performing vehicles, is all set to launch Yaris, a subcompact car, in India in 2018.

Produced by the Japanese automobile giant since 1999, the Toyota Yaris gets its name from “Charis,” which according to Greek mythology is one of the Charites or “Graces”. Here are a few reasons as to why should you own the Toyota Yaris.

Why This Car is a Must Have


·         Space: This vehicle is 4,115 mm long, 1,700 mm wide and 1,800 tall, and will probably be the only hatchback that measures over 4 meters. This well-spaced vehicle comes with sufficient head and leg room to even accommodate tall passengers.
·         New Platform: This luxurious hatchback is likely to be loaded with features. Toyota also intends to modify this vehicle as per the Indian conditions. To be based on the company’s new TNGA platform, the Yaris will be equipped with projector headlamps and daytime running LEDs as well.
·         Two Engine Options: The hatchback will be available in two engine options, one a1.5 litre petrol and second a 1.4 litre diesel option with the engines mated to a 5-speed manual transmission. The company may also offer a six-speed automatic transmission or a CVT for the petrol version. Both engines will have nearly identical power outputs of 90 BHP. The petrol version will have peak torque of 120Nm and the diesel version will have peak torque of 200Nm.
·         Economical: Likely to be highly economical, the petrol variant will have a mileage of 15 km per litre, while the diesel variant is likely to give a mileage of over 20 km per litre.
·         Good Interiors: On the interiors front, the Toyota Yaris is expected to come with a black and a beige interior, set up with soft leather seats in a comfortable cabin for seating up to five passengers. Other attractive features include push start and stop, keyless entry, touch screen system with maps and reverse camera. Standard safety equipment includes ABS and Airbags. Equipped with satellite radio, Bluetooth and USB connectivity, this hatchback also offers the GPS option.
·         Attractive Rear: The rear will have an integrated roof spoiler, rear windscreen wiper, compact taillights, a sculpted registration enclosure, and a body coloured bumper.


In terms of competition, the Yaris will compete with the new Hyundai Elite i20, Maruti Suzuki Baleno and the Honda Jazz.
